Brockworth Community Centre
Community facilities for the 21st century
The Community Centre at Brockworth, Gloucestershire, is a modern, purpose built complex designed and built to meet the needs of 21st century communities - creating an exciting facility with integrated technology and physical access for all.
The new complex comprises a two storey building that includes a hall capable of seating 100 people, conference room, small meeting room and refreshment / eating facilities. On the first floor are offices for the Centre's administration staff, and others available for rent by local enterprises.
Attached to the main building is a single storey youth centre equipped with full multi media facilities.
The buildings are of traditional block and brick construction with tiled roof - with the added feature of a small tower that houses a clock.
The complex is a great example of how community centres can be transformed to remain an important facility to encourage a sense of community in our modern world.
