The Old Pump House, Bristol
Ten luxury waterside apartments
Dove Construction won the contract to build ten, beautifully appointed apartments on the site of the Old Pump House immediately adjacent to the river Avon at St Anne’s, Bristol.
As main contractors for this project, Dove Construction has the knowledge and experience of the health and safety issues that are critical for the safety of employees and the environment when undertaking building work near water.
The project required the near complete demolition of the Old Pump House and the construction of a development in a style similar to the original building. Including lead covered dormer windows, lead lined guttering, and with tiles and stonework to match the original building, the Old Pump House apartments provide high quality accommodation whilst retaining the character of the environment.
The Old Pump House apartments are designed with a steel framed basement capable of managing the water of a predicted hundred year flood whilst leaving the remainder of the building undamaged. Exterior works included the construction of new specialist drainage pumping facilities.
The upper three floors, of timber frame internal construction, comprise a range of one and two bedroom apartments finished with a very high quality of interior and exterior finishes and specifications.
The development is completed with hard landscaping surrounding the apartments. soil retention walls to suit the environment, and the access road.
