Corporate Golf Day 2006

Success for all at the second annual Dove Construction Corporate Golf Day.

The thirty four guests and staff arrived at Norton Downs Golf Club in the Cotswolds to be greeted with a fine lunch and blue skies for a great day of golf.

This year saw the players take on this challenging course in an eighteen hole, Stableford competition with a range of other prizes up for grabs on the way.

Play began after lunch with the first team teeing off with a little cloud and a light breeze giving relief from the heat of a June sun.

The nine groups comprised a mix of Dove Construction staff, clients, sub-contractors and suppliers from the construction industry. Designed to combine a balance of golfing ability and opportunity to network, the afternoon provides an ideal opportunity to meet informally and discuss work away from the office.

Once the final group had completed the round, everyone gathered in the bar prior to the evening meal and presentations. James Mitchell introduced the evening's events with wit and repartee and the presentations were made by Terry Young.

  • Third position: Ernie Randell
  • Team Winners: Gordon Hanks, Ron Finlayson, James Bolvter, Tony Rudman
  • Longest Drive: Mario Antonio
  • Nearest the pin: James Bovlter
  • Most improving player: James Broome
  • Maurice Williams also received a mystery prize - a mystery because nobody can remember what it was for!
